Behavior
The majority of the time, they are seen in singles, pairs, or small groups of up to 10 birds in the wild. They prefer to rest on large trees. They are typically seen peacefully resting or feeding in the thick forest canopy, which makes it quite difficult to spot them, especially given how well their feathers conceals them. These parrots are typically timid and wary. They have strong wings and are adept climbers, occasionally gliding between forceful wing beats. They consume a wide selection of nuts and seeds and build their nests in tree holes. This parrot is mostly seen in rain forests at high elevations and is rarely observed in populated areas.
Illnesses
Due to their propensity for obesity, owners of amazon parrots should be mindful of the quantity and variety of food provided daily. The Polyomavirus (which can result in anorexia, lethargy, weight loss, and mortality); Chlamydiosis (signs include decreased appetite, fluffed feathers, and nasal discharge); and vitamin-A insufficiency if fed an inadequate diet are further illnesses/conditions that affect Amazon parrots.
